A Generational Move

A few friends have asked me about my DFO Training by the Obama Campaign last month and I thought I’d share two observations:

Obama Camp is designed to do more than allow me to hit the ground running when I start working for Obama, it was a primer for running our own campaigns or helping run other people’s campaigns and helping drive the movement for this election and future elections. If you don’t know this already, this is a movement not an election. The Obama Camp has been working very hard to promote a message and not a person and is looking to redefine the democratic party
This is a generation war between the candidates.

The Baby Boomers and beyond want one last chance and the X and Y generation are trying to wrangle control of our government from their miserable runs at the presidency over the past 30 years. We are a generation that sees the world differently, we are well traveled because we chose to be, not because the military sent us. We are a generation that has networked across social and economic lines because we understand the interconnected world we live in, not because we had to tolerate them because some court told me to. We are a generation that has a unified vision for ourselves and our future families and are looking forward for leadership that reflects our values

P.S. I’m scheduled to go to Michigan for now, as of Oct 20-Nov 5
